Saturna’s Elizabeth Alm Featured in GreenMoney’s “Women Investing for Change” Issue

News Article

Elizabeth Alm, Senior Investment Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Saturna Capital, penned a feature story for GreenMoney’s “Women Investing for Change” issue about her unconventional career trajectory and what sparked her passion for fixed-income and sustainable investing.

“Some people know finance is their future. For me, the decision was based on need,” Elizabeth writes. “The looming specter of six-figure student loans cast a dark shadow on my plans to be an archaeologist.”

Elizabeth found a surprising amount of similarity between the two fields, however, and used her unique talents to carve out a niche in the sustainable investing space, focusing on global bonds and sustainable debt.

“As we face an uncertain future, the need for sustainable debt investing grows. My work reminds me daily of the important connections between people, planet, and investments,” she explains. “My hope is that future investors look beyond traditional boundaries and uncover unexpected opportunities in the world of finance. We need people with diverse backgrounds and intellectual curiosity to forge the way ahead in the fixed income market.”
