Dedicated to Long-Term Success
Nick Kaiser founded Saturna Capital in 1989 with a distinct vision for its investors: preserve capital and provide value.
Nick is fond of saying, “The money you don’t lose is the easiest money you can make.” Following this discipline, Saturna Capital aims to deliver true value to clients by offering conservative, ethical investment solutions that preserve capital while aligning with their values and long-term goals.
As a family- and employee-owned firm, we are committed to offering exceptional service, transparency, and providing high-quality, faith-based, and sustainable financial products at a fair price.
Preserve Capital
Across all mutual funds and financial services products, Saturna's investment approach is guided by a few core principles that align with our mission of delivering value for your money. These include a commitment to:
- Conservative growth
- Minimizing loss while preserving capital
- Lower volatility
- Long-term buy and hold management
- Low expense ratios
- Sustainable investment practices
These conservative investment principles would become the hallmark of Saturna’s investing style throughout its 35 years of business.
Provide Value
Since inception, Saturna has taken a wide-ranging view of the meaning of value.
From practicing classic value investing, to offering value in the form of low expenses and affordable management, Saturna has always looked to provide its customers with a great product at a fair price. Additionally, Saturna has sought to create investment products that reflect the personal values and ethics of its customers.
Saturna is proud to manage many of the world’s largest faith-based funds and some of the most unique sustainable investment opportunities.
Exceptional Saturna

Sustainability Initiatives
In our Communities
Saturna Capital is dedicated to making a positive impact. We’re enthusiastic participants in our communities, and we’re proud to support our local organizations through charitable donations and volunteering. In addition to supporting employee-selected charities, we encourage our team to take on active roles in their local organizations as supporting and leading volunteers — many of our employees hold volunteer positions on the Boards of Directors for their local organizations. We place particular importance on supporting sustainability organizations and educational programs.
By the Numbers
Since our founding in 1989, philanthropy and community involvement have been a part of our corporate mission and culture. Here’s a look at our impact:
- $14.1 million donated since 2007
- 5–10% of pretax profits donated annually
- 315 unique charitable organizations supported
- $2 million donated to employee-selected charities since 2007
Camp Saturna
Camp Saturna brings our passions for education and sustainability to life. Managed by the Saturna Environmental Corporation, Camp Saturna spans 133 acres at the north end of Silver Lake, Washington — the perfect classroom for educational programs that foster a lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship. We’re proud to offer visitors a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, and more. Those who can’t visit can still experience the benefits of Camp Saturna: the growth in our red cedar and Douglas fir forests each year offsets the paper used in our operations and reporting to over 100,000 shareholder accounts.
