News Article

Bellingham, WA March 21, 2025 – Financial news and research organization Investor’s Business Daily (IBD) announced that the Saturna Short-Term Bond Fund was honored in their Best Mutual Funds Awards as part of its Best US Taxable Bond Funds category

This category is comprised of 828 fixed-income funds with at least a ten-year track record that distribute income subject to taxation at the federal, state, and sometimes local levels. Of 828 US taxable bond funds at least 10 years old, 588 of them, or more than 70%, won IBD Best Mutual Funds 2025 awards.

“It is an honor to be recognized by IBD as one of the best US Taxable Bond funds,” said Senior Investment Analyst and Portfolio Manager Elizabeth Alm. “This recognition truly celebrates the collective efforts of Saturna’s entire crew. Strong performance requires dedication from not just the investment team, but from every member of the firm and department that make our work possible. Risks: Fund share prices, yields, and total returns will change with market fluctuations as well as the fortunes of the countries, industries, and companies in which it invests. The risks inherent in the Saturna Short-Term Bond Fund depend primarily on the terms and quality of the obligations in its portfolio, as well as on bond market conditions. When interest rates rise, bond prices fall. When interest rates fall, bond prices go up. Bonds with longer maturities usually are more sensitive to interest rate changes than bonds with shorter maturities. The Fund entails credit risk, which is the possibility that a bond will not be able to pay interest or principal when due. If the credit quality of a bond is perceived to decline, investors will demand a higher yield, which means a lower price on that bond to compensate for the higher level of risk.

The Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index is a broad base, market capitalization-weighted bond market index representing intermediate term investment grade bonds traded in the United States.
