Saturna Capital Marks $10 Billion Milestone With Enhanced Employee-Directed Philanthropy Program
Saturna Capital, a mutual fund asset manager focusing on faith-based and sustainable investing, announced the surpassing of $10 billion in assets under management. To honor this milestone, the firm is expanding its long-standing annual holiday charitable giving program, enabling employees to direct contributions of up to $10,000 to nonprofits that are meaningful to them.
“Reaching this remarkable milestone called for a celebration that reflects who we are,” said Jane K. Carten, President, Director, and Portfolio Manager. “Saturna Capital is dedicated to making a positive impact, and this achievement reflects not just growth in numbers, but the skill, persistence, and shared commitment to excellence that our crew brings every day. Empowering our employees to direct charitable dollars to causes they care about reinforces Saturna’s commitment not only to its crew, but to the broader community.”
Through this annual charitable giving program, Saturna and its crew members have supported more than 300 charities over the years, giving more than $15 million to organizations focused on environmental stewardship, education, food security, local and national social services, and more.
Crew members are also afforded the opportunity to “pitch” nonprofits to their colleagues in an internal open-mic style forum, sharing why specific 501(c)(3) organizations are important to them and how the donations can make a difference.
All donations for this year’s enhanced program will be distributed by the end of December. Each nonprofit will receive a personalized letter noting that the gift was made possible through a Saturna employee’s recommendation, underscoring Saturna’s commitment to empowering its crew and supporting the communities where they live and work.
