Saturna Capital wins international award for investment management and excellence in ESG

Pan Finance Magazine honors Saturna with the 2021 award for Investment Management Services of the Year and Excellence in ESG

London, UK, December 8, 2021 – Saturna Capital, investment manager of the Amana, Saturna Sustainable, and Sextant Mutual Fund families, and the Idaho Tax-Exempt Fund, received the 2021 Pan Finance Award for Investment Management Services of the Year (USA) and Excellence in ESG (USA). “ESG” stands for environmental, social, and governance, a method of evaluating companies for investment that emphasizes social responsibility.

“We are pleased to receive this prestigious award and recognition of our efforts,” said Jane Carten, president of Saturna Capital. “This award demonstrates our commitment to shareowners, and to following a long-term, value-oriented, and sustainable approach to investing, striving to deliver strong and consistent investment returns.”

Pan Finance selected Saturna Capital for the award through a combination of readership polling and a review by their research department. Pan Finance provided their subscribers with online award surveys, which include selected categories and participants, then aggregated the results into a short list of three organizations. Pan Finance’s research department then analyzed the contenders based on a set of predetermined criteria. The research team uses both qualitative information provided by respondent subscribers within the survey and information gathered from industry partners and platforms. Following this, a recommendation is made to the editorial team who selects the final recipient.

A private, employee-owned firm, Saturna Capital manages $6.5 billion and operates four wholly-owned subsidiaries, including Saturna Brokerage Services in Bellingham, Washington; Saturna Trust Company in Henderson, Nevada; Saturna Sdn. Bhd, an investment advisory and licensed fund management firm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Saturna Environmental Corporation in Bellingham, Washington, which runs Camp Saturna.

Pan Finance Magazine is an online and print journal, providing worldwide coverage of finance, economics, and global commerce. In order to be listed among the winners in Pan Finance's materials, Saturna paid a one time fee of $1,800. More information about the 2021 Pan Finance Awards can be found on their website.
