Saturna’s Levi Zurbrugg contributes article to Power Magazine on the future of renewable energy

Bellingham, WA, October 16, 2023 – Power Magazine, a publication covering news and technology advances in the global energy industry featured an article written by Levi Zurbrugg, senior investment analyst and portfolio manager with Saturna Capital. The article is titled “Energy in Transition – Where Are Investors Looking Next?” and was published on the site on October 16, 2023.

According to Zurbrugg, one of the major challenges to transitioning to a low-carbon economy will be “connecting the infrastructure dots between new alternative sources and the current grid, all while maintaining resilience amid a move to non-dispatchable energy sources.” Improving grid infrastructure will require a “complex permitting process and buy-in from myriad stakeholders across jurisdictions.”

“Tying renewables to the grid is only a matter of time and technology,” said Zurbrugg. “Forward-looking investors and utilities alike recognize that increasing use of renewables will require improving energy efficiency.”

Levi Zurbrugg, MBA, CFA®, CPA® is a senior investment analyst and portfolio manager of Sextant Core Fund. He is also the deputy portfolio manager of Amana Developing World Fund, Sextant Global High Income Fund, and Sextant Short-Term Bond Fund. He joined Saturna Capital in June 2019.
