Dan Kim joins Saturna as Senior Investment Analyst
Bellingham WA, March 10, 2023 – Saturna Capital Corporation, manager of the Amana, Saturna Sustainable, and Sextant Mutual Funds, has hired Dan Kim, CFA® as their newest senior investment analyst.
“We are excited to have Dan join our award-winning investment group,” said Scott Klimo, Saturna’s chief investment officer. “Our asset growth and entrance into new markets made this the right time to build out the team. Dan brings several years of experience as a US and international technology analyst and portfolio manager with a solid track record of performance and asset gathering.”
Mr. Kim, who is based in Bellingham, will be covering the Technology sector. He is an experienced investment professional with more than 19 years of experience in managing institutional capital in global equities. He founded Blackcrane Capital, LLC, a global investment management firm, in 2012. At Blackcrane, he served in multiple functions including as a portfolio manager.
Prior to founding Blackcrane, Mr. Kim worked for Mastholm Asset Management, LLC in Seattle as a portfolio manager and director of research, and at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in Seoul, Korea as an investor relations officer.
Mr. Kim obtained his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, where he studied Operations Research and Industrial Engineering with a concentration in electrical and computer engineering. He then attended Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he earned a master’s degree in Financial Engineering.
