Saturna Capital Appoints Executive Vice President and Advertising Director
Bellingham, WA (July 21, 2008) – Saturna Capital Corporation, investment adviser to the no-load Amana and Sextant mutual funds, has named Jane Carten as Executive Vice President and John Overturf as Advertising Director.
Jane Carten will oversee the company’s day to day operations in its Bellingham, WA, headquarters and supervise customer service, administration, marketing and technology functions. Having worked at Saturna since 1997, Carten has held various positions of increasing responsibility in several of the company’s departments. Prior to the new appointment, serving as Chief In-Forming Officer, she oversaw Saturna’s marketing operations. She also supervised technology activities and managed the company’s proprietary operations system, Neptune. Carten holds a dual MBA degree in Computer Science and Business from Western Washington University.
As Advertising Director, John Overturf will supervise the development and implementation of Saturna’s advertising strategy and oversee the development and production of Saturna’s print and online marketing material. Overturf joined Saturna in 2005 as Desktop Publisher. Previously, he worked in advertising for the music and radio industries.
