Saturna Capital Adds Field Representatives to Reinforce Its Wholesale and Trust Services
Bellingham, WA (April 21, 2010) — Saturna Capital Corporation, sponsor of Saturna Trust Company and investment adviser to the sharia-compliant Amana Mutual Funds Trust, which includes the Amana Growth Fund (AMAGX), the Amana Income Fund (AMAGX) and the Amana Developing World Fund (AMDWX), has announced the hiring of two new field representatives. M. Nayeem Qureshi has joined the company as Director of Philanthropy and Trust Services and S. Ali Farooq as Senior Wholesaler for the Midwest region.
Mr. Qureshi, who is based in San Francisco, acts as a liaison to the Islamic community and an educator on the unique estate planning needs and other benefits of trust services for Muslims in United States. In this role, he will oversee the nationwide "Leaving a Legacy" estate planning seminar series co-sponsored by Saturna Trust Company, which specializes in the administration of trust services for American Muslims and The Islamic Society of North America. In addition, Mr. Qureshi will also manage development of Saturna's donor advised fund products and services.
In his capacity as Senior Wholesaler, Mr. Farooq, based in Chicago, is responsible for conducting outreach and providing support to financial advisors to ensure better understanding of the Amana Mutual Funds and other investment products managed and administered by Saturna.

Nayeem Qureshi brings 22 years of experience in wealth management, legacy planning, and philanthropy consulting to Saturna and most recently held the position of director of global sales at Denver-based software company Newdea. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers Inc. and senior managing director Western region at Foundation Source. Mr. Qureshi is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati. He is a board member of Children's Hospital Oakland Foundation and an advisory board member of Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute. Additionally, he serves as a steering committee member and the director of philanthropic services for the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists.
Mr. Farooq worked as a wealth manager for B.C. Ziegler prior to joining Saturna. He began his career in wealth management at Merrill Lynch and worked with retirement plans for small to medium sized businesses and helped non-profit organizations, corporations, and professional individuals develop retirement programs. He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 2004.
